Review Filem: Songlap

Teraju utama filem ini Shaheizy Sam (Am), Syafie Naswip (Ad) dan Sara Ali (Hawa). Berlatar belakang kemelut harian masyarakat kota tentang drugs, human trafficking, penjualan bayi serta diselitkan juga elemen kekeluargaan. Ada few scenes yang menarik minat aku tentang filem ini:-

1. Hubungan Am dan Ad. Walaupun bergelumang dengan hasil haram tetapi relationship between siblings ni so close which is true especially if you have no others to turn to, you will really hang on to your family.

2. Hubungan Ad dan Razak (his BF) yang struggle with drugs. Shows that Ad has his own strong stand, you don't have to be just like your friend in order to have a friend. Even watak Razak sekejap but he gives impact during early part of the story.

3. Ad berkunjung ke rumah pelacuran. Ad in his age really needs attention, so does other teenagers. They just want to sit and talk. It’s funny bila tengok Ad “melanggan” his own mom just to show her his shuffle moves. But little did we know that is exactly what they really want, for us to sit and listen. I believe nowadays kids think the same thing, if only they could afford to pay their parents just to listen to them.

4. Ramai pertikaikan kenapa masa Ad try to convince his mom dia asik ulang-ulang “Saya ni, saya ni, saya ni..” kenapa dia tak cakap “Saya ni, saya ni anak mak” pada aku script yang last tue very cliché. Aku rase Ad try to challenge his mom whether she really remember him or not. Contoh how to challenge kawan sekolah yang dah 15 tahun kita tak jumpe.

Script 1:
Kita: Eh.. eh Timah ko ingat aku?
Timah: *pikir* sape ek?
Kita: Aku lah Janet
Timah: Oh! Janet sehat ker? Keje mane sekarang?
Kita: Tak sangka ko ingat.. aku sehat.. keja blablabalablablablabalabla
Timah: Oklah ek tak boleh lama, jumpe lagi nanti *Sudah! Janet mane pulak nih!*
Moral: We want to believe yang kawan kita memang ingatkan kita in fact there is possibility dia tak/tak nak ingat kita.

Script 2:
Kita: Eh.. eh Timah ko ingat aku?
Timah: *pikir* sape ek?
Kita: Aku ni, aku ni.., Aku lah…
Timah: *pikir* *pikir* *pikir*
Moral: Dia memang tak ingat kite.

In Ad and his Mom case, it’s deeper because they are related by blood. As a mother even bila kasi anak pada orang dah bertahun-tahun pun surely days gone by akan teringat pasal dia. As I mentioned earlier Ad is a bright kid, from his mother expression memang nampak she is clueless most likely she choose not to think about her children. This is why Ad stops going there anymore.

5. Am unintentionally tells his side of story about his mom to Hawa. Honestly I don’t see that coming, and he has his own reason to hate his mom and does what he do for living.

6. Bila Am paksa Ad to go to Kuantan. Sedih. I think the only reason Ad betrayed Am because he knows duit is another reason for Am untuk cari dia.

Filem arahan Effendee Mazlan dan Fariza Azlina Isahak, aku tak kenal diaorang ni but sentuhan mereka berhasil. Aku tak pandai bahasa filem, tapi aku suke location and angel shoot untuk filem ni tak nampak staged dan music dia love! It is a good story.
Pada aku ianya satu produk yang berani kerana mereka mencabar penonton filem Melayu yang selalu disogok dengan menu kebiasaan. Adakah filem ini akan diangkat antara filem terbaik 2011? Seharusnya. I’m not sure about others tapi yang pasti I will crave for more from these talented people behind Songlap.

Studio Ghibli - Totoro

My first discovery of Studio Ghibli through Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle. Those are Papa’s favorite, not mine maybe because of too much fantasy element I can handle hehe.

Later I found So Yesterday and found myself in love with it instantly, that movie makes me crave more from Ghibli. I remember watch it for the first time and enjoy every scene/shot of it. The drawing, characters, script, music, sounds and everything feel so right and real. For me it’s not just a movie, it is the movie like my own life story that I can relate to.

Somehow So Yesterday led me to My Neighbor Totoro the master of masterpiece. :) Maharaja segala maharaja lebih kurang macam tue lah definisi dia. Totoro will make you watch from the very beginning of intro sampai habis. You will be introduce to Mei for the first time and with background music “Hey let’s go! Hey let’s go!... as happy as can be.. lalala” I know it doesn’t make much sense now hahaha but when you watch the movie, both soundtrack and the movie are very correlated and they compliment each other (terlebih sudahhh).

Lepas tengok untuk pertama kali then I bring it home for my sisters to watch and of course I watch with them once again. After that we pass it to Papa after he showed so much interest by walking behind us countlessly while we were watching it. Then the nightmare begins. He starts to watch it and we watch with him (third time and counting). When finish semua orang masuk tido, we knew he likes the movie. How? you may ask.

Before sleep we talks bout the movie and we can hear “Hey let’s go! Hey let’s go!”. He plays it again. We smile and humming along until we fall asleep. Around 3am terkejut nak bangun pegi toilet sekali lagi dengar lagu yang sama. Dalam hati “so cute.. papa must have love Satsuki and Mei so much” try jenguk kat hall he still awake ingatkan dah tertido.

Terjaga next morning around 8am dikejutkan oleh “Hey let’s go! Hey let’s go!”. Kiteorang gerakkan masing2 and tergelak2 dalam bilik cause of his obsession. Then kiteorang tertido balik. Senyap. He went out untuk beli breakfast :D nyum.. nyum
Around 10am as usual he brings back breakfast and turn on TV. Sekali lagi “Hey let’s go! Hey let’s go!”. Mase tue Mei is not cute anymore I really want to strangle her. “Ya Allah! biar betul…” masing2 terus keluar dari bilik pegi kat hall dengan hati yang panas. With innocence face papa cakap “haa tue ada roti kembung dengan roti canai panas lagi”. Then kiteorang pun. “Ok…”. Nothing can beat roti kembung panas2. hahaha

Nantilah aku sambung lagik pasal citer nih. Untuk entry kali ni, ini jer yang terlarat.
